Michael Hess

I grew up listening to Eagles, Dan Fogelberg, James Taylor, and Crosby, Stills, Nash, Young. I learned to play those covers songs for friends and they encouraged me to start playing out.

My instincts led me to an incredible weekend of music and libations.  It was called, “Hog Killing Weekend.” A twice a year shindig sponsered by my friend Chris Quante.  He would invite all the musicians and songwriters  he had met  at live entertainment bars to come sit around a campfire and play their covers and Original Music. We would enjoy some hunting, horseshoes, washers, and food for 4 days.   Soon many of us would show up with penned songs about Hog Killing.
I have been stricken with writing original music ever since.   Now every day I wake up I  give it a go at a new one.  If you’re into Americana, Gritty folk rock, Ballads and Blues your gonna love it...
